Lead futures prices rose by Rs 1.05 to Rs 106.40 per kg today, as speculators created fresh positions, supported by a strong demand from consuming industries.

A firm trend in the base metals pack at the London Metal Exchange (LME) also boosted the metal's futures prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, lead for delivery in December gained Rs 1.10, or 1.03 per cent to Rs 106.50 per kg, with a business turnover of six lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in January contract gained Rs 1.05, or 1 per cent to Rs 107.45 per kg, with a business volume of three lots.

Market analysts said pick up in demand from battery manufacturers amid a firm trend in copper and other base metals at the LME supported the uptrend in lead futures prices here.
