Lead traded higher by Rs 0.50 or 0.58 per cent to Rs 86.85 per kg in futures market today, on pick up in demand for the metal at spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in July contract gained Rs 0.50, or 0.58 per cent to Rs 86.85 per kg, with an open interest of 22 lots.

The metal for delivery in June-month contract also moved up by Rs 0.35, or 0.41 per cent to Rs 85.60 per kg, with a business turnover of 246 lots.

Marketmen said pick up in demand at spot markets helped lead futures to trade higher but weak trend overseas capped gains.
