Lead moves up in futures trade on spot demand

Lead gained Rs 1.90 to Rs 105.80 per kg in futures trade today on increased demand from battery makers and other consuming industries.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for August delivery gained Rs 1.90, or 1.83%, to Rs 105.80 per kg, with a business turnover of 2,205 lots.

Similarly, the metal for September delivery traded higher by Rs 1.65, or 1.58%, to Rs 106.10 per kg, with trade volume of 180 lots.  

Market analysts said firm trend at spot market due to increased demand from battery makers in the spot market mainly led to rise in lead futures prices.
