Supported by a pick up in demand from battery makers, lead gained 0.56% to Rs 107.45 per kg in futures trading today.

At the Multi-Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in March edged up by 60 paise, or 0.56%, to Rs 107.45 per kg, with a business turnover of 60 lots.

February lead traded higher by 50 paise, or 0.47% to Rs 106.35 per kg, with a business turnover of 1,121 lots.

Analysts said fresh buying by speculators, driven by pick up in demand from battery makers in the spot market pushed up lead prices at futures trade.
