Lead prices drifted by 1.53% to Rs 112.60 per kg in futures trading today due to sluggish demand from battery-maker in the spot market amid a weak global trend.
At the Multi Commodity exchange (MCX), the May contract declined Rs 1.75, or 1.53%, to Rs 112.60 per kg in 1,380 lots.
The June contract were down by Rs 1.765, or 1.44%, to Rs 113.20 per kg in 178 lots.
Market analysts said besides sluggish demand from battery- makers in the spot market, a weak trend in base metals pack at the London Metal Exchange (LME) after disappointing Chinese manufacturing data, raising demand concern, mainly kept pressure on lead prices at futures trade.
