Lead surges 2.36% on global cues
Demand from battery-makers triggered the rise

Lead futures surged by 2.36% to Rs 134.60 per kg today.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the February contract surged by Rs 3.10, or 2.36% to Rs 134.60 per kg in 5,203 lots.
The January contract traded higher by Rs 2.95, or 2.25% to Rs 134 per kg in 31,525 lots.
Analysts said firming global trend, increased demand from battery-makers led to an upsurge in lead futures.
Meanwhile, lead surged 2.8% to $ 2,499 a metric tonne; the highest since September 2011, on the London Metal Exchange.
