Lead up 0.98% on spot demand, global cues

Buoyed by pick up in spot demand and firming trend overseas, lead futures today edged up by Rs 0.95, or 0.98 per cent, to Rs 97.60 per kg.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the October contract of lead traded Rs 0.95, or 0.98 per cent higher at Rs 97.60 per kg, with a turnover of 31,74 lots.

Analysts said firming trend at physical markets and gains in base metals overseas boosted the rise in lead futures here.
