Lead up by 0.1% on spot demand

Speculators engaged in creating positions on rising spot demand

Lead futures rose marginally to Rs 134.80 per kg today as speculators engaged in creating positions on rising spot demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in February traded higher by 15 paise, or 0.11%, at Rs 134.80 per kg, with a turnover of 322 lots.

The metal for delivery in March also rose by 10 paise, or 0.07%, to trade at Rs 135.75 per kg, in a business turnover of 25 lots.

Marketmen said increased positions created by speculators, supported by strong domestic demand from battery-makers, continued to influence lead prices at futures trade here.
