Lehman Effect: Wall St slumps; Indian ADRs tumble

The Wall Street tumbled yesterday on news that Lehman Brothers filed for bankruptcy. The Dow Jones industrial average slumped 504 points to 10,918. The Nasdaq plunged 81 points to 2,180.

Indian ADRs, too, ended with steep losses. Sterlite, Satyam, Patni Computers, ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank plummeted 10-14% each. Infosys, Genpact, Wipro, MTNL and Tata Communications shed 6-8% each.
