Long-only funds outperformed long-short strategies in September

Of the 34 long-only funds, 19 beat the Nifty50 returns of 2.8% during the month, while two of the 14 long-short funds outperformed the benchmark

Long-only alternative investment funds (AIF) strategies outperformed long-short funds in September. The former gave average category returns of 3.7 per cent compared with 1.5 per cent by the latter, shows data from PMS Bazaar. Of the 34 long-only funds, 19 managed to beat the Nifty50 returns of 2.8 per cent during the month, while two of the fourteen long-short funds outperformed the benchmark. Abakkus Asset Manager’s India Millenial Scheme 3 was the best performer for the month, with returns of 8.5 per cent.
