Lotus Refineries Private Ltd, declared a defaulter by the National Spot Exchange Ltd (NSEL), has filed a Rs 2,773.29-crore claim suit in the Bombay High Court against NSEL for not delivering goods stored in warehouses owned by the exchange.
Lotus Refineries said the claim amount has been arrived at based on the pending goods to be delivered to it by NSEL, worth Rs 2,640.79 crore with 18 per cent interest.
The suit has sought an order from the court directing NSEL to withdraw its circular dated August 22 that termed Lotus Refineries as a defaulter. It also pleaded the court restrain the exchange from taking any action against it.
