M&A buzz lift Wall St indices, ADRs subdued

US stocks ended higher on Friday, pushing the Dow Jones industrial average to its fourth straight record close helped by talk of potential takeovers and economic data that calmed inflation concerns.

The Dow closed up 23 points at 13,265 - its 19th record finish so far in 2007. The Nasdaq Composite gained seven points to end at 2,572.

Indian ADRs finished on a quiet note. Infosys, Dr. Reddy's, HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank finished with marginal gains.
