Maize, barley declines on subdued demand

Maize and barley prices declined up to Rs 50 per quintal in the wholesale grains market today, largely due to a fall in demand.

Traders said slackened demand mainly put pressure on wholesale maize and barley prices.

In the national capital, maize declined by Rs 50 to Rs 1,160-1,170, while barley lost Rs 30 to Rs 1,230-1,255 per quintal.

The following are today's grain quotations (in rupees per quintal):

Wheat MP (Deshi) 1,600-1,750, Wheat Dara (for mills) 1,200-1,205, Chakki Atta (delivery) 1,205-1,210, Atta Rajdhani (10 kg) 175, Shakti Bhog (10 kg) 175, Roller Flour Mill (50 kg) 640-660, Maida (50 kg) 650-680 and Sooji (50 kg) 740-760

 

Basmati Rice (Lal Quila) 9,500, Shri Lal Mahal 9,300, Super Basmati Rice 9,000, Basmati Common 5,200-5,300, Rice Pusa-(1121) 4,000-4,800, Permal Raw 1,800-1,850, Permal Wand 1,975-2,075, Sela 2,075-2,125, Rice IR-8 1,675-1,700
