Maize falls on reduced offtake

In limited deals, maize prices declined by Rs 15 per quintal in the wholesale grains market today due to reduced industrial offtake against adequate supplies in spot markets.

Elsewhere, prices moved in a tight range on alternate bouts of trading and settled around previous levels.

Traders said reduced industrial demand, against adequate stocks position led to a fall in maize prices. Maize lost Rs 15 to Rs 1,050-1,060 per quintal.

Following are today's quotations in Rs per quintal:

Wheat MP (deshi) 1,700-1,800, wheat dara (for mills) 1,220-1,225 chakki atta (delivery) 1,225-1,230, atta Rajdhani (10 kg) 175, Shakti bhog (10 kg) 175, Roller flour mill 650-670 (50 kg)
