Maize futures climb up on aggressive buying

Maize prices firmed up by Rs 37 to Rs 1,262.50 per quintal in futures trade today following heavy buying by traders at existing low levels.

Market analysts said apart from low level buying, rising demand from bio products and cattle-feed making industries, helped boost the trading sentiments.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, maize prices for delivery in May jumped up by Rs 37, or 3.2%, to Rs 1,262.50 per quintal, with an open interest of 15,340 lots.

Likewise, the prices for delivery in April shot up by Rs 32, or 2.62%, to Rs 1,252 per quintal, with an open interest of 16,490 lots. firmed up by Rs 37 to Rs 1,262.50 per quintal in futures trade today following heavy buying by traders at existing low levels.
