Maize futures fall on profit taking

Maize prices fell by Rs 10.50 to Rs 1,136.50 per quintal in futures trade today following selling pressure at higher levels.

Marketmen said increased selling on existing higher levels along with lower spot market cues, brought down the futures prices of maize.

At the National Commodities and derivatives Exchange, maize prices for March contract went down by Rs 10.50 or 0.92 per cent to Rs 1,136.50 per quintal, with an open interest of 12,300 lots.

April contract also followed suit and eased by Rs 10 or 0.86 per cent, to Rs 1,155 per quintal, clocked an open interest of 9,680 lots.
