Market at day's high

After a firm start, the markets are trading rande bound around the day's high of 18,373. The Nifty has added 45 points and is at 5,523. The smallcap and the midcap index up 1% each continues to outperform the broader markets which is at 0.7%.

On the BSE sectorl indices, Metal and Realty continue to lead up nearly 1.5%each. In the metal space, all the 12 scrips have advanced. The major gainers here are Hindalco leading at 4%, Jindal Saw and Tata Steel adding 2% each. However, in the realty index, 10 scrips  advanced while three declined. HDIL, Ackruti City and Sobha Dev up 2% each are the movers in this space.Meanwhile, Oil & Gas briefly slipped in to the red but rebounded later to continue at the bottom of the charts.

 

Apart from the metal ans realty scrips,the gainers in the Sensex-30 stocks are ICICI Bank, Tata Motors and Infosys up 1.5% each followed by Maruti Suzuki, HDFC, Tata Power and SBI adding 1% each.

On the losers list are Hero Honda down 1%, ONGC, Reliance Communications and RIL shedding 0.02%- 0.07%.

Market breadth is positive. Of the total 1690 stocks traded on the BSE, 2087 have advanced while 542 have declined.
