Market breadth fairly -ve; tech stocks hold gains

The Sensex is now down 128 points at 14,323.

Reliance has plunged 2.8% to Rs 2,168. Jaiprakash Associates has tumbled 2.5% to Rs 156.

Tata Steel and Mahindra & Mahidnra have shed 2.3% each at Rs 572 and Rs 551, respectively.

Sterlite and Tata Motors have dropped around 1.7% each at Rs 607 and Rs 427, respectively.

Reliance Communications, DLF, ICICI Bank, HDFC and Bharti Airtel have slipped around 1.5% each to Rs 403, Rs 488, Rs 646, Rs 2,327 and Rs 802, respectively.

Maruti and Larsen & Toubro are down over 1% each at Rs 617 and Rs 2,578, respectively.

 

Satyam has surged 2.3% to Rs 403. Wipro has moved up 1.5% to Rs 426. Infosys and TCS are up over 1% each at Rs 1,725 and Rs 827, respectively.

HDFC Bank has advanced 1.5% to Rs 1,226.

The market breadth is fairly negative - out of 2,256 stocks traded so far, 1,372 have declined, 808 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
