Market ends year on winning note

 The market snapped its four-day losing streak with the Bombay Stock Exchange Sensex gaining 108.96 points, or 2.34 per cent, at 4,757.37 in a day marked by extreme volatility.

 In the last four trading sessions, the Sensex lost 6 per cent, or 272 points. The index fell 3.5 per cent during the week after rallying nearly 17 per cent in the previous four weeks.
