Market firm; BHEL, HDFC gain 5%

The Sensex is now up 586 at 15,070.

Reliance Infrastructure and ICICI Bank have zoomed around 6.5% each to Rs 1,081 and Rs 732, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro and NTPC have soared 5.7% each to Rs 2,763 and Rs 183, respectively.

HDFC Bank and DLF have surged 5.5% each to Rs 1,316 and Rs 522, respectively.

Maruti, BHEL, HDFC and Jaiprakash Associates have rallied 5% each to Rs 715, Rs 1,820, Rs 2,397 and Rs 176, respectively.

SBI has moved up 4.8% to Rs 1,591. Grasim and Sterlite have added 4.5% each to Rs 2,045 and Rs 614, respectively.

Satyam has advanced nearly 4% to Rs 432. ONGC and Tata Power are up 3.7% each at Rs 1,111 and Rs 1,120, respectively.

 

The market breadth is extremely positive - out of 2,628 stocks traded so far, 1,795 have advanced, 747 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
