The Sensex continues to hold most of its gains and is now up 421 points at 14,470.
The BSE Bankex has soared nearly 6% to 6,982, and the Realty index has surged over 4% to 4,953.
SBI has zoomed 6.8% to Rs 1,398. ICICI Bank and Reliance Infrastructure have soared 6% each to Rs 672 and Rs 992, respectively.
BHEL has surged 4.7% to Rs 1,706. HDFC Bank, Tata Steel and Jaiprakash Associates have rallied around 4.4% each to Rs 1,269, Rs 597 and Rs 163, respectively.
HDFC has moved up 4% to Rs 2,340. Maruti, Reliance Communications, DLF and Wipro have gained around 3.5% each at Rs 653, Rs 399, Rs 485 and Rs 428, respectively.
Tata Motors, Larsen & Toubro and Satyam are up 3.3% each at Rs 431, Rs 2,585 and Rs 419, respectively.
Out of 2,648 stocks traded so far, 1,828 have advanced, 713 have declined and 107 are unchanged.
