The Sensex started on a flat note at 11,149-up 14 points. The markets are highly volatile. It reached a high of 11,217 and a low of 11,070. The current value of the index is now 11,149-up 15 points
Jaiprakash Associates has advanced around 5% to Rs 124. Mahindra & Mahindra and Bharti Airtel are up over 3.5% each at Rs 459 and Rs 734, respectively.
ACC is high 3% at Rs 666. Reliance Communications has gained over 2.5% at Rs 230.
Tata Power, Grasim Industries and SBI has added over 1.5% each at Rs 871,Rs 1,737 and 1,285, respectively.
However, Tata Motors has slipped around 4% to Rs 236. Wipro has declined 3% to Rs 304. Maruti Suzuki is down 2.5% to Rs 779. The other major losers are Infosys and ITC
The market breadth is fairly positive. Out of 2102 stocks traded, 1271 have advanced and 758 have declined.
