IIFL Finance shares frozen at 10% upper circuit as promoter hikes stake

On Wednesday, Nirmal Jain bought an additional 454,000 equity shares of IIFL Finance for Rs 3.40 crore, according to disclosure made by the company to stock exchange. Post transaction, Jain's stake in IIFL Finance increased to 12.61 per cent from 12.49 per cent, it said. READ MORE

A survey has showed that a majority of investors in India trust the financial services industry, putting the country at the top of the list of the 15 surveyed markets.

GAIL (India) rallies 8% in two days on strong March quarter results

Shares of GAIL (India) were up 5.5 per cent to Rs 106.90 on the BSE on Thursday, surging 8 per cent in the past two trading days after the company reported a 47 per cent year-on-year (y-o-y) growth in profit before tax (PBT) at Rs 2,556 crore for the quarter ended March 2020 (Q4FY20). EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation) came in at Rs 2,475 crore, up 47 per cent YoY due to better profitability from gas transmission and gas trading segments. Canara Bank slips over 6% as net loss widens to Rs 3,529 crore in Q4

The bank's pre-tax loss came in at Rs 3,334.5 crore for the fourth quarter on a decline in net interest income and higher employee costs. However, income on a standalone basis during the quarter rose to Rs 14,222.39 crore, compared with Rs 14,000.43 crore in the year-ago period, Canara Bank said in a regulatory filing. READ MORE
