Coal India Q3 results: Net profit declines 21% to Rs 3,084 crore
State-owned Coal India Ltd (CIL) on Thursday reported a 21.3 per cent decline in consolidated net profit at Rs 3,084 crore for quarter ended December 31, 2020 (Q3FY21). It was Rs 3,921.81 crore in the same period a year ago. Sequentially, the profit rose marginally by 4.5 per cent. It was Rs 2,951 crore in the preceding quarter. Revenue from operations during the quarter increased to Rs 23,686 crore from Rs 23,190 crore in the year-ago period, up 2. per cent year-on-year. The company's total expenses stood at Rs 19,592 crore in the latest December quarter. READ MORE

Elon Musk's younger brother sells Tesla shares worth $25.6 million
Kimbal Musk, the younger brother of Elon Musk and a Tesla Inc. board member, sold $25.6 million of shares in the electric carmaker, according to a filing with the US Securities & Exchange Commission. The 48-year-old sold 30,000 shares on Feb. 9 at an average price of $852.12, according to the filing. Tesla shares dropped 5.3 per cent Wednesday to close at $804.82. Tesla soared 743 per cent in 2020 and is up a further 14 per cent this year. READ MORE

Sebi examines feasibility to introduce freight derivatives contracts
With a view to introduce new products for development of the commodity market, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) is examining the feasibility of introducing derivatives contracts on freight.
As freight is one of the important cost factors in the commodities market, the regulator said introduction of derivatives on freight whether on rail, road, air or waterways would help the industry to hedge their freight related price risks. READ MORE

Route Mobile rallies 20%, Affle India locked in 10% upper circuit
Shares of Route Mobile and Affle India, on Thursday, hit their respective record highs and were frozen in their respective upper limits on the BSE in an otherwise range-bound market. In comparison, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 0.09 per cent at 51,356 points, at 01:28 pm. Route Mobile was locked in 20 per cent upper circuit at Rs 1,527 on the back of heavy volumes. The trading volumes on counter jumped over four-fold with a combined 3.26 million equity shares changing hands. Rs 819-crore RailTel IPO to open on Feb 16; price band set at Rs 93-94
State-owned RailTel Corporation of India on Thursday fixed a price band of Rs 93-94 a share for its initial share-sale, which will open for public subscription on February 16. The initial public offer (IPO) is entirely an offer-for-sale through which government will offload 87,153,369 equity shares, amounting to 27.16 per cent stake, the company said in a statement.
