Nifty outlook by HDFC Securities

Nifty has been taking support at its 5-day EMA and holding the short-term trend on the upside. The primary trend of the market is up, but although momentum is diminishing for the last couple of days, as far as Nifty is concerned. However, unless Nifty breaks the near-term support, which is placed at 15,200, traders should continue to hold on to their long positions. Oil retreats on rising US dollar

>> Oil prices fell in early trade on Wednesday as the U.S. dollar climbed, retreating after a two-day rally that was driven by an Arctic blast curbing output from oil and gas fields in Texas, the country’s biggest oil-producing state.

>> US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures gave up 33 cents, or 0.6% to $59.72 a barrel, retreating from a 13-month high of A$60.95 hit on Tuesday.
 
>> Brent crude futures dropped 40 cents, or 0.6%, to $62.95 a barrel, coming off three days of gains.

The Wall Street registered a mixed close overnight as the expectation that US policymakers will stick with significant fiscal and monetary stimulus helped drive stocks higher while concerns over rising interest rates weighed on some sectors. The Dow Jones scored another record closing high on Tuesday, climbing 0.2 per cent. The S&P 500 fell 0.06 per cent, and the Nasdaq fell 0.34 per cent.
