SAT stays SEBI's order banning Kishore Biyani, other Future promoters from markets
The Securities Appellate Tribunal (SAT) has stayed the order passed by market regulator SEBI, that had put a one-year ban on Future Retail Chairperson Kishore Biyani and some other promoters from the securities market. SAT has also directed the Future Group promoters to deposit a sum of Rs 11 crore as an interim measure.

Sustained marketing margins, recovering demand aid profitability of OMCs
The sustained strength of marketing margins (MM) and recovering demand for petroleum products is supporting the profitability of India's oil marketing companies (OMC) against weak gross refining margins (GRM). It is lowering downside risks for their credit metrics, Fitch Ratings said. Petroleum product sales for Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) surged by 22%-23% in the third quarter (Q3FY21) from the previous quarter. The recovery of domestic transportation fuel demand to near normal levels, barring aircraft fuel, and MMs on auto fuel at above pre-pandemic levels aided the sales. READ MORE

Global investors move to renewable sector as coal demand dips in India
Two reports on Tuesday looked into coal demand in India's electricity mix and global financial flows moving to renewable energy industry. A week earlier, International Energy Agency's (IEA) India energy outlook said India would need a massive investment of $1.4 trillion if it were to aim for net zero by mid 2060. Bank of Maharashtra, IOB: Privatisation buzz sparks rally; should you buy?
Shares of public sector banks (PSBs) were on fire on Tuesday after a report by news agency Reuters said the government has shortlisted Bank of Maharashtra, Bank of India, Indian Overseas Bank, and the Central Bank of India for privatisation in fiscal year 2021-22. SIS shares rally 9% as firm announces Rs 100 crore buyback plan
Shares of Security Intelligence Services (SIS) vaulted 9 per cent to Rs 465 on the BSE in Tuesday's intra-day session after the company on Monday, post market hours, announced a share buyback offer worth Rs 100 crore. The company in an exchange filing on February 15, 2021, said that it would buyback 18,18,181 equity shares, representing 1.24 per cent of the total paid-up equity capital as on March 31, 2020.
