Dead cat bounce: All you need to know about this golden opportunity
As per the theory, a dead cat bounce is a continuation pattern where the bounce is expected to hit strong resistances and re-join the earlier downward trend. A dead cat bounce, thus, is believed to be short-lived. The name “Dead Cat bounce” is based on the notion that even a dead cat will bounce, if it falls far or falls with a high speed. However, it has been observed, especially in recent times, that a dead cat bounce often leads to a firm reversal, on the back of follow-up buying. READ MORE

MARKET VIEW | V K Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist at Geojit Financial Services
As FY 21 - a painful disater for humanity but, paradoxically, beneficial for global stock markets - come to a close, there is hope and optimism in the air. Even though Covid cases are rising in many areas, it is clear that in the race between the vaccine & the pandemic, the vaccine would win. Economies would rebound smartly in FY 22. But markets have already discounted this and valuations are high. But this is unlikely to deter the bulls in the short run. Today being the last day of FY 21, DIIs are likely to buy aggressively to push up the NAVs of their mutual fund schemes. Their focus is likely to be IT, private sector financials, cement, pharma and select FMCG stocks which are expected to report good Q4 results.

Markets can deliver 15-20% CAGR return over the next 5 yrs: Pankaj Murarka
"We are in a bull market and equity as an asset class tends to be volatile. However, the volatility reduces with a longer-term time horizon. So, investors should have a long-term investment horizon and stay invested without getting too perturbed by short-term volatility. I believe equity markets can deliver 15-20 per cent compounded annual returns (CAGR) over the next 5 years. As economies recover from lockdown, mid-cap businesses will have a sharper rebound in their operating performance and hence they should outperform the large-caps." READ MORE
