Adani Ports to raise $500 mn from overseas bond sale
Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone, the largest port operator in the country, is in the international debt market with a benchmark issue to raise at least USD 500 million. This is the third large bond sale by domestic issuers after Exim Bank's USD 1 billion issue at record low prices in the first week of the moth followed by SBI in the second week with a USD 6 billion sale. Majority of equity schemes pare cash positions
Equity schemes have not gone heavy on building a cash buffer despite the steep run-up in equities over the last couple of months (which propelled the benchmarks to record highs), and rich valuations. Indian Hotels, others in race to take over Mysuru's Lalitha Mahal Palace
Indian Hotels, the operator of Taj brand of hotels, has evinced its interest to acquire the iconic 100-year-old Lalitha Mahal Palace in Mysuru. A final decision, however, will be taken after the palace celebrates its 100 years in November this year, Appanna Nayak, chairman of the Karnataka government-owned Jungle Lodges and Resorts (JLR) said. The palace, currently run by JLR, will be offered to bidders on a long-term management contract. READ MORE

IT shares trade firm in a weak market; Cyient hits 52-week high, LTTS up 9%
Shares of information technology (IT) companies were trading firm in an otherwise weak market with Cyient hitting fresh 52-week high, while L&T Technology Services (LTTS) rallied 9 per cent on the BSE in the intra-day trade on Wednesday. At 10:02 am, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 0.71 per cent or 344 points at 48,004. Shares of Cyient surged 13 per cent to Rs 647, zooming 28 per cent in the past three trading days, after the company's management said it expects sequential improvement in margins in the January-March quarter (Q4FY21) driven by increase in volume and improvement in operational efficiencies. L&T gains 2% post December quarter results; analysts see further upside
Shares of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) rose 2 per cent to Rs 1,393 on the BSE in intra-day trade on Wednesday after the company reported better-than-expected December quarter numbers. According to Antique Broking, while near term earnings is expected to remain volatile on account of Covid-19 pandemic-led business challenges and uncertainties, long-term business prospects of L&T remain promising given infrastructure development remains one of the key pivotal theme of the government to revive economy.
