L&T: Larsen & Toubro (L&T) reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 2,467 crore in the December quarter, up nearly 5 per cent from the same period last year as lower expenses lent some support to the bottom line even as revenues were a tad muted.

Auto stocks: Stocks of auto companies will be in focus after the government approved a policy to scrap more than 15-year-old vehicles owned by government departments and PSUs. The same will come into effect from April 2022. READ MORE

BUY DIVISLAB | TARGET: Rs 3,720 | STOP LOSS: Rs 3,480

The stock has formed a hammer candle on the daily chart, which is considered as a bullish reversal pattern. Dip in PAT, weak asset quality: What to track in Bank of Baroda's Q3 result

Even as economic activity began to look up in the December quarter, Bank of Baroda (BoB) may not have been able to leverage on it, fear analysts. The lender, which is scheduled to report its December quarter results (Q3FY21) on January 27, may report muted earnings on the back of moderate treasury gains, higher operating expenses, and elevated provisions. Result today :: Double-digit revenue growth likely in HUL on GSK acquisition

Preference for essential goods, with utmost importance to health and hygiene segment, increased in-home consumption of packaged foods, stabilisation of the distribution network and gradual unlocking of the economy are some of the factors that are likely to boost the sales of fast-moving consumer good (FMCG) companies during the third quarter of the financial year 2021.

On the back of these factors, most brokerages expect double-digit growth in sales of essential goods-focussed firms. While Hindustan Unilever (HUL) is likely to see a sequential improvement in sales, its organic growth is likely to be below peers in mid-single digits. READ MORE
