Wipro, TCS: These IT stocks can soar 15% despite being in 'overbought' zone

The Nifty IT index was ruling nearly a per cent higher on Monday, bucking the overall weak trend in the markets. At 12:14 PM, the index was at 35,032 levels, up 0.6 per cent, as against a 0.23 per cent dip in the benchmark Nifty50 index. Individually, shares of Mindtree were up 3 per cent while Mphasis, Coforge, Wipro, and TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) gained between 0.7 per cent and 2.2 per cent. According to analysts at Phillip Capital, the sector will continue to see re-rating in the near to medium term. READ MORE

Merger buzz with Clix Capital gives wings to Suryoday SFB; stock zooms 20%

Shares of Suryoday Small Finance Bank (SFB) were locked in the 20 per cent upper circuit band at Rs 179.40 on the BSE on Monday on report that Clix Capital Services is in merger talks with the lender. Trading volumes on Suryoday SFB's counter jumped more than five-fold with a combined 1.17 million equity shares having changed hands on the NSE and BSE till 11:21 am. There were a combined pending buy orders for 245,316 shares on both the exchanges, the data shows. READ MORE

Adani Transmission m-cap crosses Rs 2-trillion; zooms 104% since Aug

Adani Transmission joined the elite club of companies with Rs 2-trillion market capitalization (market-cap) on the BSE, after its share price hit a new high of Rs 1,846.70, up 3 per cent in the intra-day trade, on Monday. The Adani Group company, engaged in the electric utility business, surpassed its previous high of Rs 1,810.80, touched on September 9, 2021. India has cut base import taxes on palm oil, soyoil and sunflower oil, according to a government notification, as the world's biggest vegetable oil buyer tries to cool near-record price rises.
