NMDC hits fresh 52-week high after govt approves mining expansion plan

Shares of NMDC hit a fresh 52-week high in otherwise subdued market, up 3 per cent at Rs 123 on the BSE on Thursday, after the state-owned company announced that the Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM) approved its mining plan to enhance the production of iron ore from Kumaraswamy iron ore mines in the state of Karnataka. Tata Group stocks mixed after NCLAT restores Mistry as Group exec chairman

Shares of Tata Group companies were trading mixed in the early trade on Thursday, a day after National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) reinstated Cyrus Mistry as the executive chairman of the Tata group. The 172-page order, while upholding Mistry’s charges that he was ousted without due process, said the action taken by Ratan Tata and others against the former Tata Sons chairman was oppressive and illegal. Lemon Tree Hotels zooms 5% after it signs agreement to open hotel in Goa

Lemon Tree Hotels gained 5.13 per cent to Rs 61.50 on the BSE on Thursday after the company signed a License Agreement for a 44-room hotel at Baga, Goa. This will be the company's fifth hotel in the coastal state.
 
"The hotel is located at Baga, one of the most popular destinations of north Goa and will feature 44 well-appointed rooms and suites, complemented by a multi-cuisine restaurant... The hotel, owned by Aqua Resorts And Spa Pvt. Ltd, is expected to be flagged and relaunched in April 2020," the company said in a filing. READ MORE

Nusli Wadia hails NCLAT ruling, says Mistry's removal was a vindictive act

Nusli Wadia, chairman of the Wadia group of companies, hailed the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) order reinstating Cyrus Mistry as the chairman of Tata Sons, and said Mistry’s removal was a vindictive act of just one person.
 
“It (the order) proves that Cyrus’ removal was malicious and a vindictive act of one person. I am proud that I was the only independent director who believed in Cyrus and opposed his unjust removal,” he told Business Standard. READ MORE
