Market near day's high

The markets are witnessing heavy buying today. The Sensex is up 297 points at 20,500 and Nifty is at 6179 up 88 points.

TCS is the top gainer among the Sensex stocks, followed by HDFC, Wipro, Mahindra & Mahidra and ITC up more than 2% each. Meanwhile NTPC and Bharti Airtel are the only losers on the Sensex

All the sectoral indices are trading higher, up more than 0.5% each.

IT index continues to lead the rally, the index is up nearly 2.5% or 150 points at 6208, followed by Tech, FMCG, Realty and Oil & Gas indices.

TCS also leads the rally among the IT sttocks, up nearly 4% at Rs 386 followed by Oracle Financial Services Software, Wipro, HCL Technologies and Infosys, up more than 2% each.

Broader markets are in line with the benchmark indices, the Mid-cap index is higher by 74 points at 8428 and the Smal-cap index is up 119 points at 10,768. The BSE 500 market breadth is extremely positive as 385 stocks are advancing and 110 stocks are declining.

MVL leads the Mid-cap charts, the stock is up 10.27% at Rs 80 followed Indian Metals and Ferro Alloys, Apollo Hospitals, Petronet LNG and KGN Industries, up more than 5% each.

Among the Small-cap stocks Kasturi Global is the top gainer followed by Gulf Oil Corporation, Binani Industries, GMR Industries, Gujarat Ambuja Exports and Arvind.
