The market is moving in a narrow range with most of the counters still exhibiting weak trends owing to selling pressure. The Sensex is now up three points at 6,755 on buying in select heavyweights, while the Nifty is subdued at 2,127 - down two points. Reliance has gained a per cent (Rs 4) to Rs 575. HPCL has extended its gains by 2.24% (Rs 7) to Rs 340. ICICI Bank is trading firm with a gain of 4.86% (Rs 19) at Rs 401. While HDFC Bank is up a rupee at Rs 594, SBI is trading on a lacklustre note at Rs 729 - down Rs 2. Bajaj (up Rs 4 to Rs 1,094) and Maruti (up Rs 2 to Rs 451) are trading with steady gains. While Tata Motors is up a rupee at Rs 457, Hero Honda is trading lower by 1.32% (Rs 7) at Rs 555. ONGC is down Rs 4 at Rs 908. ITC and HLL are still trading with marginal losses at Rs 1,336 and Rs 136, respectively. Infosys (down Rs 8 to Rs 2,197) and Wipro (down a rupee to Rs 682) are trading at subdued levels. Satyam has dipped 1.42% (Rs 6) to Rs 403. Grasim has shed 1.26% (Rs 17) to Rs 1,342. Other cement stocks are also trading at lower levels. Bharti has dropped 3.12% (Rs 7) to Rs 210, while L&T is down a per cent (Rs 10) at Rs 1,075. Reliance Energy has shed 1.88% (Rs 10) to Rs 539. |
