After reporting steep losses in early trades, the market tends to remain in negative territory following weakness in most of the old and new economy stocks. The Sensex has lost 42 points to 6,202, and the Nifty is down 11 points at 1,919. ONGC (down Rs 14 or 1.60% to Rs 847) is still exhibiting weak trends. HLL is trading with marginal losses at Rs 130. Reliance, however, has registered gains to Rs 533 - up Rs 3. Infosys has declined a per cent (Rs 20) to rs 1,920. While Wipro has dropped 2.35% (Rs 14) to Rs 587, Satyam is down 1.41% (Rs 5) at Rs 384. ICICI Bank has shed 2.17% (Rs 8 to Rs 372. SBI and HDFC Bank are also trading at lower levels at Rs 615 (down Rs 3) and Rs 534 (down a rupee). Cipla has lost 1.23% (Rs 3) to Rs 237, and Dr. Reddy's is marginally down Rs 4 at Rs 688. Ranbaxy is down a per cent (Rs 9) at Rs 944. L&T is trading lower by 1.42% (Rs 14) at Rs 965, while Tisco is down 1.41% (Rs 5) at Rs 358. BHEL, however, is up a per cent (Rs 5) at Rs 777. |
