The markets have extended further gains and the index is now at 16,936, up 164 points. The NSE Nifty is at 5,069, up 52 points.
Tata Power has soared 6% to Rs 1,345 and Jaiprakash Associates has advanced 4% to Rs 142, respectively.
Reliance Industries, DLF and Hindustan Unilever has added 2% each at Rs 1,008, Rs 297 and Rs 298 and Rs 238, respectively.
HDFC, SBI, Grasim Industries, Reliance Infrastructure and BHEL have increased 1% each.
ONGC and Maruti have declined 1.5% at Rs 1,096 and Rs 1,469, respectively.
The market breadth is positive, out of 2,790 shares traded, 1,915 have advanced and 797 have declined so far on the BSE.
Among the sectoral indices, realty and power indices have added 1.5% each.
