Markets continue to trade in red

The markets continue to trade in the red with the Sensex down 14 points at 20,301 and the Nifty lost six points and is at 6,113. The smallcap index has inched ahead at 0.5% and the midcap index  is up 0.3% as compared to the benchmmark index at 0.07% in the negative.

On the BSE sectoral indices, Health Care up 0.7% leads the pack followed by PSU, Oil & Gas, and Bankex. Earlier gainers Metal and Consumer Durables continue eo languish in the red along with Power, Auto, IT and Teck.

Gainers:Reliance Communications up 2% followed by Cipla, Hindalco and SBI gaining 1% each are the other significant gainers.

 

Losers:Mahindra & Mahindra down nearly 2%, Jaiprakash Associates, TCS shedding 1.5% each, HDFC and Tata Steel losing 1% are the top losers.

The market breadth is marginally positive. 1594 stocks have advanced while 1084 have declined on the BSE.
