The markets have extended losses in late morning trades owing to significant selling pressure in energy, metal and select IT stocks.
The Sensex has dropped over 200 points to 15,692. The Nifty is down 70 points a 4,688.
Tata Power has dropped 2.2% to Rs 1,272. ITC has slipped 2% to Rs 243.
Metal stocks are in the red. Hindalco has declined 1.7% to Rs 139. Tata Steel has slipped 1.3% while Sterlite is down around 1%.
HDFC, DLF, Wipro, TCS, ONGC and BHEL have also dropped.
Market heavyweight, Reliance has declined 1% to Rs 983.
On the other hand, Bharti Airtel has gained 1.2% at Rs 304. Hero Honda has added 1% to Rs 1,599.
The market breadth is marginally positive. Out of 2,444 stocks traded, 1,212 have advanced while 1,139 have declined.
