Markets extend losses,Nifty down 1.5%

Markets have extended losses. 

The Nifty touched a low of 4,393 and is now at 4,405, down 64 points. The Sensex touched a low of 14,833 and is now down 206 points at 14,856.

Markets have slipped into the red. The Nifty dropped 133 points to touch a low of 4,425. It is now near its low at 4,435.

TCS has slumped 5% to Rs 455. Grasim, SAIL and HCL Tech have dropped 3.5% each to Rs 2,691, Rs 166 and Rs 222, respectively.

Cairn India, BHEL, ABB, Cipla, Maruti Suzuki, Wipro, Siemens, BPCL and Reliance are down 2-3% each.

 

On the other hand, ONGC has surged 4% to Rs 1,086. Sterlite and DLF have gained 2.7% each to Rs 612 and Rs 353, respectively. Suzlon and Sun Pharma have added 2% each.

Jindal Steel, ICICI Bank, Nalco, Tata Motors and Reliance Communications are the other gainers.

Meanhwile, the BSE Sensex is down 81 points at 14,982.

The market breadth is neutral with over 1,200 stocks on both the advancing and declining sides.
