After rallying sharply in early trades, the market came under correction in mid-morning trades following weakness in select old and new economy stocks.

The Sensex, which dropped to a low of 6,523, has recouped from its losses on selective buying and is now up a point at 6,540. The Nifty, too, is marginally up at 2,015.

Reliance is down a per cent (Rs 3) at Rs 528, while ONGC is trading weak at Rs 865 - down Rs 3. ITC has advanced 1.24% (Rs 18) to Rs 1,511.

ICICI Bank has shed 1.66% (Rs 7) to Rs 394. While SBI is up a per cent (Rs 5) at Rs 655, HDFC Bank (up Rs 2 to Rs 548) is trading with steady gains.

Infosys has pared gains and is now up a per cent (Rs 16) at Rs 2,152. While Wipro, too, is trading a per cent higher (Rs 6) at Rs 674, Satyam has lost 1.28% (Rs 6) to Rs 454.

Gujarat Ambuja and ACC are up a per cent each at Rs 440 (up Rs 2) and Rs 382 (up Rs 3), respectively. Grasim, however, is marginally down at Rs 1,117.

Bajaj has dropped 1.44% (Rs 17) to Rs 1,199. While Tata Motors has added 1.21% (Rs 5) to Rs 438, Maruti is up a per cent (Rs 4) at Rs 458.

Dr. Reddy's has slipped 1.14% (Rs 8) to Rs 688, while Cipla is marginally up at Rs 274.

Zee has tumbled 3.53% (Rs 5) to Rs 145. While BHEL has declined a per cent (Rs 8) to Rs 865, HPCL is down Rs 3 at Rs 334. Tata Power and Tisco, however, are up a per cent each at Rs 367 and Rs 355, respectively.
