Markets flat in early trades

The Sensex after opening on a weak note has ereased its partial gains and is now flat at 16,275, down 12 points. The NSE Nifty is at 4,864, down six points.

Among the Sensex-30 stocks, Tata Steel and ONGC have slipped 1% each to Rs 571 and Rs 1,095, respectively. BHEL, Hero Honda, Bharti Airtel, Reliance Communications, Sterlite and Jaiprakash Associates are the other losers on the Sensex, down 0.5% each.

Tata Power on the other hand has advanced 1% to Rs 1,501. Reliance Infrastrcuture, Tata Power, Reliance and SBI are up 1% each.
