Markets have a good start

In sync with the Asian sentiments, the Indian markets too openend on a positive note. The Sensex opened up 138 points at 18,360 and the Nifty gained 39 points at 5,519.In the broader market space, smallcap index opened 1% up at 9,946 and the midcap index gained 0.9% at 7,898.

Earlier, the Asian markets too opened in the green this morning. Asian stocks touched one-month highs after the latest U.S. jobs data pacified the investors who were worried of a second recession in the world's biggest economy.The Hang Seng has gained 1% at 21,165. Nikkei has jumped 1.5% to 9,253.

 

All the indices on the BSE have openend in the green. Metal, Realty and It indices are up 1% each in the opening trades. The laest gainers are Oil & Gas, Power and PSU.

The gainers on the Sensex are Hindalco up nearly 4%, Sterlite and Tata Steel adding 2% each, ICICI Bank, Jindal Steel, Jaiprakash Associates, Infosys adding 1% each.

ONGC and Hindustan Unilever down 0.1% each are the only losers on the Sensex in gthe opening trade.

The market breadth is extremely positive. 1538 stocks have declined while 282 have declined.
