Markets lacklustre, small-caps gain

Markets are lacklustre in late morning trades. The Sensex, after touching a high of 17,098, is now up 84 points at 17,056.

The Nifty is up 29 points at 5,110.

The BSE small-cap index has added 1.2% to 8,533. Sulzer India, Gokul Refoils, Alakali and Artson engineering are the top gainers among teh sector.

All sectoral indices are in green. Realty and capital goods are leading the rally.

Bharti Airtel has gained 2.5% at Rs 300. Reliance Communications is up 1.2% at Rs 166.

Realty and cement stocks are up. DLF has jumped 1.8% to Rs 310. Jaiprakash Associates has added 1.2% to Rs 146. ACC and Grasim has advanced around 1.56% each to Rs 981 and Rs 2,829, respectively. Larsen & Toubro has moved up 1% at Rs 1,604.

 

Hero Honda, Mahindra & Mahindra and Tata Steel have advanced around 1% each.

However, Tata Motors has slipped marginally to Rs 806.

The BSE market breadth is fairly positive. Out of 2,583 stocks traded, 1,811 have advanced while 691 have declined.
