Markets are likely to witness a firm opening for the third straight day mirroring strength in the Asian peers on the back strong US jobs data and rally in the commodities.

Asian stocks are trading higher on the back strong US jobs data and rally in the commodities.Japan’s Nikkei, China’s Shanghai Composite up 0.8%-1.4%. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is down 1%. Wall Street ended with marginal gains with the Dow Jones index rising 0.2% to settle at 16,899. 
 
STOCKS IN FOCUS

Tata Steel received final environment clearance for its Rs 1,877 crore expansion project to be performed at Jamshedpur Steel Works in Jharkhand. 
 
TCS has  joined General Electric's Digital Alliance Program and will use GE's industrial internet platform to build more internet-of-things based solutions. 

HDFC will remain in focus after the company decided to raise Rs 2,000 crore via non-convertible debentures (NCDs) to fund business needs. 

Dr Reddy's Lab is seeking approval from its shareholders for a share buyback for an aggregate amount not exceeding Rs. 1,569.42 crore. 

Reliance Industries, Tata Steel and the Adani group will be the biggest beneficiaries of the 15 per cent investment allowance which comes into effect with retrospective effect from April 1, 2015.

Hyderabad-based Gayatri Projects today informed the stock exchanges about the award of Rs 4,744 crore contract for designing and building Iqbalgarh-Vadodara section of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor project to the Sojitz-led consortium in which it is a partner.

Tata Motors is likely to show some action after JLR India total sales grew by 54% year-on-year to 277 units compared to 179 units reported in the year-ago period.
