Govt to borrow Rs 50,000 cr more this financial year
The Centre looks set to breach the fiscal deficit target this year, with lower-than-expected revenue prompting it to go for additional borrowing of Rs 50,000 crore from the market. The borrowing is over and above the budget estimate of Rs 5.80 lakh crore for 2017-18, which would lead to the government missing its fiscal deficit target of 3.2 per cent of the gross domestic product (GDP) for the first time in four years.

At the same time, the government lowered its borrowing through short-term treasury bills by Rs 61,203 crore. This has made the task of exactly calculating the fiscal deficit a bit tedious exercise. READ FULL REPORT

Mixed positions in index future, stay light: Angel Broking
In Nifty options front, we saw good amount of open interest addition in 10550 and 10600 call options; followed by unwinding in 10300-10500 strikes. On the other side, except for some build-up in 10550 put option, we hardly saw any strike adding fresh positions. However, good amount of unwinding was seen in 10400 and 10500 put options.
In the recent up move, we saw good amount of positions forming in index futures; but, daily open interest activity hints these are blend of both long and short positions. Rollover in Nifty is on the higher side at 50.70%, suggesting these positions are being rolled too. At current jucture, the F&O data remains unclear for us; hence, traders are advised to stay light in index and prefer stock specific approach as they have better risk reward ratio.
