Medanta files DRHP with Sebi

>> Global Health Ltd (Medanta) filed draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) in connection with its initial public offering (IPO) with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).

>> The IPO consists of fresh issue aggregating up to Rs 5,000 million and an offer for sale of up to 48,440,000 equity shares.

Realty shares witness selective buying; BSE Realty up 1.1% at 4,087

US stocks extend gains as volatile quarter nears end

U.S. index futures advanced and global stocks rebounded from a two-month low as a debt-ceiling deal in Washington and central-bank assurances about transitory inflation boosted optimism the economic recovery can continue. December contracts the S&P 500 Index rose 0.6 per cent as dip buyers returned to the equity markets after Tuesday’s worst selloff since May 12. The dollar fell from the highest level in almost 11 months. Treasury yields were steady. Asian stocks erased losses amid gains in China before a weeklong holiday.
 
Oil climbed after a two-day slump, heading for a monthly gain amid tighter supplies. West Texas Intermediate futures recaptured the level above $75 per barrel.

Oil mixed after U.S. inventories post surprise gain

Oil prices were mixed on Thursday as selling prompted by an unexpected rise in U.S. inventories eased, with analysts predicting supply may not keep up with a recovery in demand. Brent crude was down 8 cents at $78.56 a barrel, after falling 0.6% on Wednesday. U.S. oil rose 11 cents to $74.94 a barrel, having also declined by 0.6 per cent in the previous session.
 
U.S. oil and fuel stockpiles increased last week, the U.S. Energy Department's Energy Information Administration (EIA) said on Wednesday. Crude inventories were up by 4.6 million barrels in the week to September 24 to 418.5 million, EIA data showed.

Diesel at record high, petrol nears all-time high as rates hiked again

Petrol and diesel prices on Thursday neared record levels across the country after rates were hiked by 25 paise and 30 paise a litre respectively. The price of petrol was hiked to Rs 101.64 a litre in Delhi and to Rs 107.71 per litre in Mumbai, according to a price notification of state-owned fuel retailers. Diesel rates increased to Rs 89.87 a litre in Delhi and Rs 97.52 in Mumbai. READ MORE
