Rollover stats
Nifty rolls were near 24.43%, higher than 3M average of 14.38%
Market wide rolls were at 20.43%, higher than 3M average of 22.2%
High rollover was seen in Adani Enterprises (61%), Voltas (46%), UBL (44%), Ramco Cement (44%) and Century Textiles (44%)
Rollover activity is significantly low among CESC, Apollo Hospitals, Kajaria Ceramics, Escorts and Tata Global
Among index stocks, JSW Steel (58%), Yes Bank (57%) and Infosys (52%) are witnessing high rolls into the next series while GAIL (12%), NTPC (14%) and BPCL (16%) are seeing low rollover into the March series
Rollover activity in the Nifty found some momentum in the last session as mid-month open interest in Nifty swelled over 5 million shares. In the last session February series shed 2.2 million shares against addition of more than 2.4 million shares in the March series.
The roll spread in Nifty increased marginally to 40 points. Considering the expected dividend of almost 22 points in March series, the current spread of 62 points seems to be on a higher side. We expect the spread to decline gradually towards settlement.
