Markets marginally up

The NSE Nifty has touched a high of 5,478, and a low of 5,435. The index is currently up 16 points at 5,458.

The markets are trading marginally higher this afternoon. The Sensex having rebounded into green, and is now up 59 points at 18,172. Earlier in the day, the index touched a high of 18,238 and then dropped to a low of 18,094.

Among the Nifty 50 stocks - Idea has soared nearly 4% to Rs 68. Cairn India has surged 2.7% to Rs 332.

Axis Bank and Bharti Airtel have rallied around 2.5% each to Rs 1,390 and Rs 309, respectively.

Reliance Infrastructure, Siemens, BHEL, ITC, Infosys and HCL Technologies are up 1-2% each.

GAIL has slipped over 2% to Rs 464 and is the top loser in the Nifty space.

Unitech, ONGC, JP Associates, HDFC Bank and Suzlon are down around 1% each.
