The Sensex has continued to move near its day's high. The index is now up 119 points at 17,315.
The Nifty is up 30 points at 5,139.
SBI has gained 4% at Rs 2,424. Other banking stocks - ICICI Bank and HDFC have added 2.3% each to Rs 958 and Rs 2,836, respectively.
DLF has jumped 3% to Rs 446. Jaiprakash Associates, Reliance Communications, Reliance Infrastructure, TCS, Reliance, Tata Power and BHEL moved up around 1% each.
On the other hand, Sterlite continues to languish in red -down 6% atRs 817. Tata Steel has dropped 25 to Rs 565.
ITC, Mahindra & Mahindra and Hindustan unilever were down over 1% each.
The market breadth was positive. Out of 2,603 stocks traded 57% have advanced while 39% have declined.
