Markets have recovered on capital goods stocks. The Sensex recovered 149 points from its low to touch a high of 18,005. The index is now up 25 points at 17,981.
Nifty is up six points at 5,400.
BSE capital goods index has managed to gain almost 1% at 15,116. PSU and bankex are also in green.
Reliance Communications has gained over 2% at Rs 191.
HDFC has added 1.6% to Rs 3,070. Larsen & Toubro and HDFC Bank have advanced over 1% each to Rs 1,893 and Rs 2,059, respectively.
Mahindra & Mahindra and Hindustan Unilever have also gained this morning.
Meanwhile, DLF remains in the negative, and is trading at Rs 316 - down 1%.
IT stocks - Infosys and TCS have dropped 0.8% each to Rs 2,754 and Rs 826, respectively.
Sterlite has shed 0.8% at Rs 165. Auto stocks- Hero Honda, Maruti and Tata Motors have dropped around 0.5% each.
BSE market breadth continues to be positive. Out of 2,723 stocks traded, 1,624 have advanced while 993 have declined.
