Markets near day's high; Auto rallies

Markets are trading near the day's high. the Sensex is at 19,768 up 77 points.

Nifty is at 5958 higher by 23 points.

Mahindra & Mahidra is the top gainer among the Sensex stocks trading at Rs 792 up nearly 4.5%, Tata Motors, Bharti Airtel and DLF are also among the gainers on the Sensex. While. Wipro, HDFC, HDFC Bank and L&T are significant losers on the Sensex.

The broader markets have outperformed the benchmark indices, the BSE Small-cap index is trading higher by 121 points at 10.210 and Mid-cap index is at 8094 up 66 points. The BSE 500 market breadth is extremely positive as 395 stocks are advancing whlile 100 stocks are declining..

Sahara One is the top gainer among the small-cap stocks trading at Rs 169 up 9.2% followed by S E Investmentys, Hindustan Organic Chemicals, Atlanta and Orient Abrasives up more than 7.5% each. While Gujarat Flurochemicals, TVS Motors, MVL, Blue Dart and Rashtriya chemicals are among the mid-cap gainers.

Auto index leads the rally among the sectoral indices, up 163 points at 10,274 followed by Consumer Durables, Realty and Oil & Gas indices. BSE IT and Capital Goods indices are witnessing mild selling pressure.

Mahindra & Mahindra, Apollo Tyre, Tata Motora and Maruti Suzuki are the top gainers among the Auto stocks trading higher by more than 1.5% each.

Meanwhile the overall market breadth is extremely positive as 1863 stocks are advancing while 734 stocks are declining.
